I think what MARINA is doing with her original music for health & fitness is wonderful because it combines the right tempo, lyrics and feel for the activity you are doing.
You are out of control amazing. I am currently sitting in my doctor’s office and just checked my voicemail. I’m doing these blood tests where every half hour, I have to get back and lay down and do them again. I hate needles, but it was one of my New Years resolution to finally get through this and conquer my fear, so I’m going for it. Gotta love thyroid testing! FYI, they also tested for Celiacs disease this time because apparently if you have the gene, that affects your thyroid in different ways…not sure if you’ve ever done that. Thank you for your absolutely wonderful phone call that made me feel loved and motivated. You have been the key to my success. I’ve been trying to get out of this rut where I don’t feel good about myself for a while and you were the miracle that came into my life, as was this whole Gaiam amazing project. I just weighed myself at the doctor’s office–remember how for the filming we were weighed and I measured 153.5, well now, I weighed myself and I’m at 143.5! So, 10lbs in 3 weeks. I wonder why the other scales have said I only lost 5lbs. The physician’s scale is clearly more accurate! It makes me feel much better. I don’t know that I’ll get down to a size 2 like Donnell, but hopefully, I’ll be able to feel healthy and get stronger upper body. I’m doing a Parkour Revolution class on Saturday that is supposed to help with that, so I’ll let you know how it goes. Seriously, so much love and warm hugs to you and the family. It means a lot to me that you so genuinely care about all of us and took time, to even call me and motivate me.

You are a true inspiration and no matter how hard I am struggling to get through a class, your bright and loving face keeps me going going going! I am so grateful you keep mentioning FEELINGS because they keep coming up for me BIG TIME. I had so much insecurity about my body and my ability to simply get through the workouts at first, and those feelings were tough enough to work through, but now each week with each new layer of fat that melts off and the stronger my core gets the feelings get deeper and even sometimes darker. A lot of my demons are coming up – especially fear and regret and grief – but I am getting through them with support outside of class. IN class I am getting support talking to the other women who have there own issues coming up as well and in being able to support one another. Thank you for creating such a welcoming and supportive enviornment!
I only (ONLY!?) lost twelve pounds this first month – far short of the 20 – and don’t know it they’ll keep me around after Sunday, but I hope so. But even if they don’t I have learned so much and am so grateful to be part of this group going through this process with you.

Marina… can I just say I love you!
lol I know I am not in class as much as the others, but I can’t express enough how motivating you are. I feel like you stay connected to all of us and you definitely ‘keep it real’. That is what I love most. You know how it is to be where we are and know the struggle. On a performing level, I feel so connected to you as well b/c we both have the same just go for it and say/sing whatever is on your mind type of attitude. (so New York haha)! I’m hoping to be able to make some of the morning walks now with my new schedule (is there anywhere to park down there b/c I will be leaving there and having to drive back uptown to get to work). The group that we have is so AWESOME and having you with us every step of the way makes us all that much better…so I just wanted to say a quick thanks! (and love that you send us your music…I just put it right on my phone and go! I am trying to find a better way to save it though so I can keep them together and go for longer walk/runs with them)

I know this weekend will be very busy with filming and finishing up the Infomercial project. Just wanted to let you know I am 171.0 which is a total of 12 pounds for the month! I am thrilled with that and every time I step on the scale it just pumps me up to stick with it and lose more weight. I hope you don’t mind if I continue to check in with you, it helps to have another person helping me stay on track and I don’t want to tell too many people how much I weigh.

Dear Miss Marina,
I had my commercial shoot today, and can I tell you, I haven’t felt this good about myself at a shoot in MONTHS, and I have you to thank for it. I had been feeling like a fat slob at auditions, and on set, and so ridiculously nasty and out of shape. Today, I felt confident, and attractive, and would I have felt this before getting Marina-ized again? NO!
I want to THANK YOU for everything you’ve done for me, and I am seriously the freakin’ luckiest girl in the world to have met you. You have CHANGED MY LIFE! I’m so happy to have you IN my life, and I’ve learned more from this program than I have from ANYTHING ELSE. You are seriously a true goddess, and you are my biggest inspiration! I watch you work it out in class, and you make me push myself harder, so I could be better than even in my wildest imagination. You’re a miracle worker, and you have changed so many lives. I feel like I’ve won the lottery being one of the people who have been touched by you.
I just wanted to let you know how I felt, and how incredibly grateful I am. Just like out of the lyrics from that song in The Karate Kid, “You’re the BEST…AROUND!”
You know about my history and my struggle with weight my entire life, and my addiction to food. Yes, I work hard and I’m very proud of what I’ve done, but YOU inspire me every single day, because you are LIVING PROOF that it can be done!!! And you also have taught me BALANCE. Btw…I had some of my “sauce” meal — the BEST “cheat” meal ever! Totally worth every fatty calorie, but right after it, I went back to eating clean again! THANK YOU for that advice!

I bought ten of them over the past week and i have enjoyed my workouts more than i ever have… I use to do the ones from ITrain.com but the ladies voice and all the hooping and hollering she does drove me crazy and it sounded fake. Had disastrous surgeries and tried all manner of other craziness to lose it. This last 18 months I have changed my attitudes, no diets, just sensible eating and MOVEMENT MOVEMENT MOVEMENT! In the last 18 months I have lost 115 pounds. Marina, your music, words, and attitude are infectious and have really helped me maintain the motivation these last few weeks since I discovered you!

Just wanted to say I am getting over some recent heart problems and your workouts are a real blessing to find. I also want to say you are absolutely nuts
Dieting” is a word that should be banished from the dictionary. “Dieting”, “Diet”, and any version of the word are gone from my vocabulary. MARINA’s High-nrg Fitness Music and Workouts have taught me that dieting does not necessarily equal weight loss. Weight loss comes from a healthy balance of exercise and portion control. The combination of these two things equal weight loss, toning, and lead to a healthier lifestyle.
Marina’s Workout’s have played a big part in my weight loss. Her musical audio programs are inspirational and educational while providing the motivation to see me through my workouts. The key to my success has been working out is now fun for me, and I can exercise longer without getting bored or looking up at the clock. Her programs are very unique in the fact, you are not limited to the type of workout to be done. I use the “Walking/Aerobics” programs while walking in the park, while using my mini-trampoline, on the treadmill, during low impact aerobics, cleaning the house, and of course, dancing. I use the “Body Sculpting” program, while stretching, toning, and lifting weights. I have just started using one of the new podcasts Sitting To The Beat Workouts.
I have found that the exercises in this new cast to be very beneficial. I am now incorporating those movements into my daily rituals while watching tv or sitting at my desk.
I am a real women with real cravings. I believe eating modified portions of food and having fun during exercise with Marina’s audio programs has lead me to be successful at weight loss. I have been able to see the pounds and inches disappear. I have lost 29 pounds total and I am going to keep going. I am so much more healthier, toned, and full of zest. I recommend Marina’s audio cd’s or podcasts for any women who desires weight loss and a healthier life.
I recently got my IPOD Shuffle – so I just download the music and go. You are a great performer- and you make the whole experience of working out a good time.
I was listening to your Confessions #1 – and it reminded me of one of the reasons that I think I really take to your workouts and ideas/theories about dealing with food. By the way, I didn’t know that you went to your first Weight Watchers meeting at the age of 12- so did I!
Hey- you know the old story – you want what you can’t have. If I think of food as something bad and sinful- then technically I have it in my brain at all times and spend a lot of time and energy trying to figure out how to avoid it.
But in meeting you, you made working out more fun and you made how I think about eating and how I think about food easier. My mom was obsessed with food. And with her good intensions – and the fact that her best friend’s family started Weight Watchers in Texas – she thought that I was a little overweight as a child, so at the age of 10, she took me to my first meeting. I always got a lot of praise if I lost weight. If I gained weight, then I got a lot of negative body image remarks. That’s a lot to take as a 10 year old, right?
Well, anyway, I moved to New York and with the stress of living here, and when 2001 hit, I just ate a lot, and I don’t think I noticed that I was gaining weight until I was two or three sizes bigger. Now- I also do theater- and being a character type, in some circumstances, extra weight is not a bad thing. And it might be that with age, weight is more difficult to take off. But when I heard that you were meeting people to discuss your program and how fun and easy it is, well I thought “why not?”.
I recently got married and with honeymoon and getting settled into life again, I have struggled with my weight. With me – it’s just a real struggle. But at least I have a program that I can use that gives me an outlet and a plan and a way to be aware of what I eat and my exercise and how that affects the whole of my life.
I first want to thank you for taking the time out to read this email. It means so much to me. I have watched your program a number of times and you are such an inspiration. Right now I am a 22 year old female who graduated a year ago from SUNY Plattsburgh. Like you I have tried every single “diet”. The most recent one that I have tried was weight watchers. I lost 30lbs, but then stopped going to the meetings. I am asking for your help and words of wisdom. It’s alot easier to get off the horse then to go back on it. I feel like all those “diets” out there are for people who need to lose 10-20 lbs for a special event. I need to make a life style change with the way that I eat. My biggest problems are getting started and emotional/stress eating. Although I graduated a year ago, I still have not been able to land a job. I graduated with a degree in Broadcasting-Radio/TV which i’m sure you know is a competitive field. It’s times like this when I turn to food for comfort. What can I do instead? I also wanted to know if you did any detoxing or cleansing of the body while you were losing the weight. Thank you so much!!

Not only her music is great, but also her voice motivating you to do your best . And it works!! These sessions of music are definitly interresting, you learn about the risks, the attitude you must have to protect your children, what to do if the flu is spreading in your city… all in music TaGaDa .

I’m a 58 year old blind Scotsman who sits at his computer all day, munching on chocolates and drinking cola. That was until my Doctor told me my health was at risk, and I had better start doing something or else. I’ve tried the exercise bike, rowing machine, treadmill, and various pulley type gadgets, but all of them were boring, and I gave up. I’m maybe old, but I love dance and techno music, so when I found your Workouts, it changed everything. I am now standing at my PC doing the walking exercises twice a day and loving them. My wife has Multiple Sclerosis and confined to a wheelchair, and when I let her hear your Sitting To The Beat Workouts, she too was hooked. So, all I really wanted to say was Thanks for doing the Workouts, you’ve got me off my chair and i’m feeling fitter and beginning to lose a little weight as well.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You are wonderful. When I first heard your “Confessions Of A Food-A-Holic Audio Book,” I was listening to my story! My mom did the same things to me. I went on weight-watchers at 12 also! I actually had met my goal then, and got to wear a bikini one time. Then we went off the program and I went right back up. You are an inspiration. I love your ideas about food and exercise. I am now 42 and a whopping 280lbs. I’m a yo-yo-er. My weight goes up and down. I think, though, that you have really inspired me to “not diet” and learn good choices.
I also love your exercise podcasts. I love your music. Its so energetic you can’t help but get up and go for a walk! I would like to comment though that personally, I’d like your podcasts to be timed a little better. By that, I mean more consistant. Some of your podcasts are 9mins., some are 11 mins. some are 14 mins. May I please suggest a few straight 10 or 15 min. workouts? I don’t know why, but I think being able to “plan your work and work your plan” is important.
I know you’re a mother of three and so am I. I understand how little time is available some days to make a block of “me-time” to exercise. I really _do_ want to change and every little bit helps. I just finished my first walk with your walking workout. I have always just walked with my dog, and usually end up looping the neighborhood six times for a distance between one and two miles. Tonight with your motivation I looped twelve times for a distance of three miles. And honestly the time flew by, it was easier than ever with your great music.
You guys are AWESOME and I’ve been telling my friends to check you out. What I ended up doing after several trials with Explorer 7.0 changing security features and what not, I gave up and a friend told me she uses mozilla firefox for her browser, so I downloaded it, tried it and ShaBang it worked. So know I’m off and running (well walking ha ha). Thank you so much and I am so happy that I get Woman’s World cause without them I would never have found you.

Thank you so very much for your generous donation of workouts and also your financial donation. I am just speechless at your generosity! My aunt is currently battling breast cancer… she is in the middle of treatments. My grandmother had it twice, survived it first time. I know so many people who have had it and fought it. I really believe it is not “IF” it impacts you but “WHEN”. I really like the work that American Cancer Society does–it compliments the Komen Foundation. Your donations will go to further their efforts for support and research. I really like the support component they offer as it is outside of the medical model but really has a humane component too. I am so sorry to hear about your losses (Marina has lost 3 to breast cancer this past year). I firmly believe that all efforts, no matter how large or small, help alleviate the effects of this disease.
On a different note, I really enjoy your workouts. I tell everyone at the gym about them, I have got my mom turned onto them, and I tell my friends too. I have always hated exercising but MARINA’ workouts keep me motivated and make me feel like I’m working out with a friend.

I have been using MARINA’s High-nrg Fitness Music and Workouts for about 5 years. I started out using them to complete a 5K walk-a-thon and lose some weight (both goals accomplished!) And, I moved on to complete a 10k then my first half marathon. I recently moved to Malaysia from the U.S. because of my husband’s work. It is such a relief to be able to put on my headset and listen to my workout partner, Marina, during my daily (hour long) workouts. It is a familiar routine that keeps me grounded. My new goal is running in the Borneo Half Marathon in October. Keep up the great work Marina! For many years I’ve been trying to come down from 210, I managed to loose 3lbs for lack of motivation. 6 Nov my church gave a treadmill. I have been diagosed with Diabetes, Fibromyalgia, Heart Disease, and a whole list of other illnesses. For about the last year or so my health has been getting worse. I can heardly get up from the couch and go to the bathroom without help. Needless to say I have become very depressed. About 2 weeks ago I found your Sitting To The Beat Podcast. Well When I first started to listen to them I could only do about 3 minutes before I had to stop. I was determined to be able to finish 1 podcast without stopping. I finally did it today. I’m so thankful for you and your hard work.
I just have to say I love you. I wrote to you last week and I’ll just give you a quick update. So far I have been able to do all of your workouts and I feel good about it. I have led a sedintary lifestyle ever since I got hurt on the job and had to retire. I’ve even gotten my wife to participate in the workouts. She thinks they are a blast. This weekend my wife and I are going to bring my treadmill in the house so that I can do your walking podcast. You are the best. I’ve finally found something that keeps my interest and I can do. I like you cranked up music as it increases my speed when I exercise and is definitely not boring!!! LOL! The music is motivating, challenging as well as provides that required cool down period. Last but important to me, the cost is reasonable.
I have worked out at a fitness center for most of my adult life doing aerobics, weight lifting, etc. As I have gotten older and my metabolism has slowed, it has become increasingly more difficult to eat what I want and to keep off the pounds. As they say, the spirit is willing but the body just isn’t as able. Having discovered your fitness audios, I have a renewed sense of vigor and have really been working out hard on a Schwinn Aeordyne my partner purchased and turned into a clothes rack. LOL!! Keep up the good work. You are an inspiration and I love working out to your music and especially like the motivational instruction voice overs.
